Language is CULTURE. When we speak English, we speak the 'culture' of the Anglophone world
My ONLINE COURSE is LIVE
If you’re second-language English, you know that sometimes not speaking the world’s global language as well as you speak your mother tongue can present some challenges.
Many of those challenges are linguistic: Not finding the right phrase, mispronouncing the odd word, not understanding the meaning of an idiom.
But what is less talked about are the cultural challenges that non-native English speakers have to overcome. Because speaking a language also means speaking a culture. When we use English as the global language, we are also ‘speaking’ the culture of the Anglophone world.
That’s what I focus on in my new online programme. This isnt’ a language course, you should speak English fluently already to benefit from it (which you obviously do if you subscribe to this newsletter!)
As I mention in the video below (and in much more detail if you follow the link under the video) I will help you with your Clarity without trying to change your accent, which in turn will boost your Confidence when speaking in English and finally we’ll address the Cultural issues that come from using English as the global language.
There are two versions of the programme available:
FOUNDATION: Access to 8 online modules, that you can watch on any device whenever you want and however many times you want. You’ll also have the option to post written questions under the modules that I will answer myself.
PRO: The 8 online modules just as above, PLUS a 1 to 1 60mins Zoom session with me, where I’ll be able to hear you speak and give tailored advice based on your unique skillset and professional needs.
